Diversity is a fact
We recognise and celebrate Scotland’s diverse communities, in particular our population of children and young people.
Equity is a choice
We acknowledge that participation in the arts presents different opportunities and barriers to each child and young person and commit to achieving more equitable access for all.
Inclusion is an action
Through our collaborative approach we are committed to explicit action to dismantle barriers to participation and increase artistic and cultural opportunities for all of Scotland’s children and young people.
Belonging is an outcome
We set our sights on a Scotland that values the arts as an integral part of life and creates the conditions for all children and young people to access their right to arts and culture.
To honour and enact the above statements, CYAA:
- Actively works towards achieving a diverse membership body that represents the interests of all of Scotland’s children and young people
- Delivers against an agreed set of actions focused on equality, diversity and inclusion
- Reserves the right to address under-representation through positive action
- Creates a collaborative working environment that supports members to effectively contribute to our purpose
- Reflects the diversity of children, young people and youth arts in Scotland in our digital communications, reports and other public facing materials
